ESF - Career Progression

Career progression for low skilled and low paid parents and other workers

What is the D Foundation offer?

Thanks to funding from the European Social Fund, we are currently running our Creative Mentoring + programme. We focus heavily on providing face to face coaching to address each person's assessed needs and our team work to increase work based skills and life skills to support and build confidence and motivation.

We want to help people aged 19 and over, particularly parents and lone parents in low paid and/or unstable employment to increase their wage and gain more stable forms of regular employment that lift them out of poverty.

You’ll get to work alongside a small team of dedicated professionals from ASBO Magazine – a new fashion magazine.

You will undertake training and skills development. You will be given responsibility to create content, which will be featured in the magazine. You will learn how to generate ideas and inspiration from a brief through to implementation, to develop and deliver content (visual and written) that truly engages our target audience across multiple media platforms. We will also top up this real work based learning with personalised work experience, mentoring, industry master classes that match your career ambitions.

What is the aim of the project?

The aim is to help low skilled and low paid workers to earn more money and get a better contract or get a new job in the creative industries.

Who is it for?

People aged 19 or older earning 10 per cent below the weekly earnings of 35 hours at the latest London Living Wage (LLW). The London Living Wage is currently £9.75 per hour.  You need to have been in low paid employment for at least 4 months OR working on a zero hour contract and earning 10 per cent below the weekly earnings of 35 hours at the latest LLW. This would currently be less than £8.77 per hour x 35 hours or £306 per week.

We provide a tailored individual mentoring and support package to each participant.

We deliver our Creative Mentoring + programme in the following London boroughs:

  • Bexley
  • Bromley
  • Croydon
  • Kingston Upon Thames
  • Merton
  • Richmond
  • Sutton
